What the app does

Frequently asked questions

Based on the current version 1.0 implementation. The app is not yet released; these answers also support preview and release preparation.

Is Packing Done available to download?

Version 1.0 is in preparation and is not yet available on the App Store. There is no confirmed release date. This website does not offer a download or accept purchases.

Can my family edit the same trip on different phones?

No. People and bags organize a family list on one iPhone. There is no live collaboration, app account or developer-operated cloud sync. You can share a text copy, but edits do not sync back.

What works offline?

Creating and editing packing lists, people, bags, templates, reusing trips, and text import/export work locally. App Store product lookup, purchases and restoring purchases need a connection. A sharing destination may also use the internet.

What is free, and is there a subscription?

The free app allows 1 active trip and 1 custom template. A non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase removes both limits. There is no subscription and no item, person or bag limit. The planned US price is US$4.99; the actual local price will be shown by the App Store when available.

Can I start another trip without buying?

Archive your current active trip to free its slot. The archived list and progress remain saved. Restoring or reusing an archive counts toward the active-trip limit.

How does reusing a trip work?

Open the trip list, show archived trips, and choose “Reuse as a new trip”. Review the new trip before saving. Packing progress starts at zero, manually set quantities are kept, and the original archive stays unchanged.

Will applying a template overwrite my adjustments?

The template preview lets you review additions before applying them. Existing manual adjustments and packing progress are kept. Review similarly named items: they are not automatically merged just because the words look alike.

Is text export a backup?

No. It creates a readable list that can be reviewed and imported again. It does not fully restore trip history, templates, settings or all packing state. A shared text copy is independent of the original.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open “More trips & templates”, then choose “Restore purchases” using the App Store account that made the purchase. This restores verified purchase access, not local trips or templates. Purchases are not publicly available before the app launches.

Why is the purchase price unavailable?

The app shows a purchase button only when the App Store returns an available product and its localized price. Check your connection and choose “Reload price”. Before release, store availability may still be pending. An unavailable message alone does not identify the cause.

Are there weather forecasts, notifications or AI?

Version 1.0 has no online weather, location permission, push reminders or AI service. “Before you leave” is an in-app checklist. Bag layout suggestions organize items; they do not measure capacity, weight or airline allowances.

Which devices and languages are supported?

Packing Done is designed for iPhone and targets iOS 17 or later. The app includes English, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. The website offers the same five languages. Minimum-version runtime verification remains part of release preparation.

What happens if I delete the app?

Deleting the app removes its local data. Device backups may include app data depending on iOS settings, but this app does not provide its own backup or account recovery service. Do not uninstall it to troubleshoot a saving problem.

How do I request a refund?

Apple handles App Store refund requests. After a purchase, use Apple’s Report a Problem service. A refund request does not restore local data.
